Sacred Band Constitution

The text below represents the Sacred Band Constitution as it was originally ratified on April 14, 2019. Please also be sure to read the current version of the Constitution.

We, the Triumvirate and Officers of Sacred Band FC of Faerie server on Aether Data Center, hereby adopt this Constitution to be our official Rank designations and Rules, on this the fourteenth day of the month of April, in the year 2019.

Article I, Rank Designations

  1. The Triumvirate
    1. The Triumvirate will always be composed of 3 leaders; The Stratigos, the Navarkhos, and the Hypatos.
    2. The Stratigos, or General, is the “master” of the FC.
      1. Powers of the Stratigos
        1. The Stratigos is the “commander” of the Antistratigos, or Officers, of the FC.
        2. The Stratigos possesses the power of the veto over all votes, popular and leadership.
        3. The Stratigos has the power to appoint a member to the rank of Navarkhos, or Admiral.
        4. The Stratigos has the power to nominate a general FC member for the rank of Antistratigos, or Officer, to be voted on by FC leadership.
        5. The Stratigos has the power to make executive decisions that are in the best interest of the FC.
        6. The Stratigos has the power to nominate an Officer for the rank of Hypatos, to be voted on by general FC members and leadership.
        7. The Stratigos has the power to immediately dismiss a member from the FC.
      2. Requirements of the Stratigos
        1. The Stratigos is required to maintain transparency between FC leadership and general FC members.
        2. The Stratigos is required to maintain an active presence within the FC as much as possible, both in-game and on Discord.
        3. The Stratigos is required to assist all members of the FC in achieving their goals, provided it does not interfere with Stratigos duties or personal goals.
        4. The Stratigos is required to consult with his/her fellow Triumvirate members before making any executive decision or veto granted by this constitution; but is not required to follow their advice.
    3. The Narvarkhos, or Admiral, is a member of the FC Triumvirate.
      1. Powers of the Navarkhos
        1. The Navarkhos is the “commander” of the FC workshop, the FC airships, and the FC submarines.
        2. The Navarkhos possesses the power of the veto over popular votes that include general FC members or general FC members and Officers, but not over the Stratigos.
        3. The Navarkhos has the power to make executive decisions that are in the best interest of the FC.
        4. The Navarkhos has sole discretion over who has authority to craft in the FC workshop and when they are permitted to craft in the FC workshop.
        5. The Navarkhos has sole discretion over when and to where the FC airships and submarines are sent out and by whom.
        6. The Navarkhos has sole discretion over random roll contests on the FC Discord.
        7. The Navarkhos has sole discretion over FC housing décor, inside and out, including the yard, and has the power to designate members to decorate the FC house, inside and out, including the yard.
        8. The Navarkhos has the power to nominate a general FC member for the rank of Antistratigos, or Officer, to be voted on by FC leadership.
        9. The Navarkhos has the power to nominate an Officer for the rank of Hypatos, to be voted on by general FC members and leadership.
        10. The Navarkhos has the power to immediately dismiss a member from the FC.
      2. Requirements of the Navarkhos
        1. The Navarkhos is required to maintain transparency between FC leadership and general FC members, both in-game and on Discord.
        2. The Navarkhos is required to maintain an active presence in the FC as much as possible.
        3. The Navarkhos is required to consult with his/her fellow Triumvirate members before using the veto and executive decision powers granted by this constitution; but is not required to follow their advice.
    4. The Hypatos, or Consul, is the only member of the Triumvirate that is not appointed, but rather nominated by the Stratigos and/or the Navarkhos and confirmed to the rank by popular vote from all active FC members.
      1. Powers of the Hypatos
        1. The Hypatos is the representative of the general FC members within the Triumvirate.
        2. The Hypatos possesses the power of the veto over popular votes, but not over the Stratigos or Navarkhos.
        3. The Hypatos has the power to nominate a general FC member to the rank of Antistratigos, or Officer, to be voted on by FC leadership.
        4. The Hypatos has sole discretion over all FC gardening, including what and when to plant and harvest, and who has permission to plant, tend, or harvest.
        5. The Hypatos has the power to nominate a general FC member to the rank of Antistratigos, or Officer, to be voted on by FC leadership.
        6. The Hypatos has the power to immediately dismiss a member from the FC.
      2. Requirements of the Hypatos
        1. The Hypatos is required to always vote with the interests of general FC members in mind.
        2. The Hypatos is required to maintain transparency between FC leadership and general FC members.
        3. The Hypatos is required to maintain an active presence in the FC as much as possible, both in-game and on Discord.
        4. The Hypatos is required to consult with his/her fellow Triumvirate before using the veto power granted by this constitution; but is not required to follow their advice.
      3. Hypatos Confirmation Process
        1. When the rank of Hypatos is vacant, The Stratigos and/or the Navarkhos may nominate one of the Antistratigos, or Officers, to be promoted to the rank of Hypatos.
        2. The nominee(s) will be notified and given 1 week to accept or decline the nomination.
        3. An announcement will be made to the entire FC once the nominee(s) have accepted.
        4. The following general FC meeting will be a confirmation meeting for the candidate(s).
        5. In the case that there is only one candidate for the rank, a simple majority vote of greater than 50% of active online members is needed to confirm the candidate.
        6. In the case of multiple candidates, whichever candidate has the plurality of votes will be confirmed to the rank of Hypatos.
        7. In the case of a tie, a run-off election between the tied candidates will occur. All active FC members will vote again.
  2. Antistratigos
    1. The Antistratigos, or Officers, can be nominated by Triumvirate members and/or current Officers and are elected to the rank by all FC leadership.
    2. Powers of the Antistratigos
      1. Antistratigos have the power to debate topics brought up in leadership meetings and vote to approve or disapprove regulations, financial proposals, social (FC) functions to include contests and prizes, and FC reimbursement programs.
      2. Antistratigos have the power to nominate general FC members for promotion to Antistratigos rank to be elected by leadership vote.
      3. Antistratigos have the power of collective veto over popular votes.
      4. Antistratigos have the power to recommend a member for dismissal from the FC, which will be voted on by leadership, unless extreme circumstances exist.
    3. Requirements of Antistratigos
      1. Antistratigos are required to maintain transparency between FC leadership and general FC members.
      2. Antistratigos are required to maintain an active presence in the FC as much as possible.
      3. Antistratigos are required to assist general FC members as much as possible, provided that that assistance does not interfere with Antistratigos duties or personal goals.
      4. Antistratigos are required to maintain peace and order within the FC.
      5. Antistratigos are required to lead committees for FC programs and contests and facilitate FC contests both in game and on Discord.
      6. Antistratigos are required to ensure that stabled chocobos are fed and trained and the stable is clean.
      7. Antistratigos are required to consult with the Triumvirate before using the power of collective veto over popular votes; but are not required to follow advice given by the Triumvirate.
      8. Antistratigos that volunteer to lead committees or events are required to follow through with these commitments. Failure to follow through will result in performance review.
  3. Hoplites
    1. Hoplites, or Soldiers, are general FC members
    2. The Rights of Hoplites
      1. Hoplites have the right to request information about the workings of FC leadership at any time without question or hesitation.
      2. Hoplites have the right to know how and why and on what FC funds are spent.
      3. Hoplites have the right to disagree with leadership at any time.
      4. Hoplites have the right to debate regulations at any FC general meeting.
      5. Hoplites have the right to a welcoming FC that does not judge nor discriminate.
      6. Hoplites have the right to free speech within the FC chat in-game or on the Discord, provided it does not violate any game policy, or common decency, or local, state, or Federal laws and does not constitute threatening, menacing, bullying, violence-inciting behavior, or stalking in-game, on social media, on Discord, or any other form not mentioned.
      7. Hoplites have the right to request assistance from FC leadership for dungeon runs, primal fights (normal or ex), raids (normal or ex), special content (i.e Eureka), in game events, or crafting.
      8. Hoplites are eligible for promotion to Antistratigos rank, based upon their participation in the FC.
    3. The responsibilities of Hoplites
      1. Hoplites are responsible for asking for assistance when they need it.
      2. Hoplites are responsible for maintaining peace and order within the FC.
      3. Hoplites are responsible for bringing disputes to FC leadership to be resolved in a manner that is conducive to maintaining peace and order within the FC.

Article 2, Rules of Sacred Band FC

  1. No one under 18 is admitted under any circumstance for any reason.
  2. This Constitution is a living document, meant to be reviewed and amended once every 6 months, or when leadership feels that it is necessary to do so.
  3. Free speech is core to our FC values; however, we must always be respectful to one another and refrain from any derogatory, or degrading, or hateful, threatening conduct, or speech that incites violence of any kind. Any and all speech of this kind will be dealt with swiftly and impartially.
  4. Any speech in-game or on Discord that violates in-game rules, local, state, or Federal laws or common decency will not be tolerated and will be dealt with swiftly and impartially.
  5. Regarding crafting mats and crystals in the FC chest, anything in TAB 1 is free for anyone to take and use as they see fit, however tabs 2 and 3 are for FC crafting projects ONLY.
  6. Crystals in the FC chest are for FC crafting projects ONLY.
  7. Any member that is inactive for 180 days or more will be dismissed from the FC. The dismissed member is welcome to rejoin the FC when they return to the game, if they choose.
  8. Pertaining to Officers, 2 consecutive officer meetings missed without prior notice to FC leadership will result in immediate demotion to Hoplite.
  9. Pertaining to Officers, Officers may be demoted for lack of participation in the game, lack of participation in the FC, violating rules 3 and/or 4, theft of FC property…i.e…furnishings, crafting materials, so on.
  10. Pertaining to Officers, demotions due to but not limited to any items under rule 9 will be reviewed and voted on by leadership.
  11. Pertaining to Officers, Officer appointments are “lifetime” or until the member decides to step down from the position.
  12. Pertaining to Triumvirate members, those positions are “lifetime” appointments or until the member decides to step down.
  13. Pertaining to Stratigos, the Stratigos may step down, but is required to choose a replacement for the position that will be approved by a leadership vote before the current Stratigos may finalize their abdication.
  14. Pertaining to Navarkhos, the Navarkhos may step down, but is required to give ample notice to the Stratigos so a replacement may be selected for appointment to the position.
  15. Pertaining to Hypatos, the Hypatos may step down, but is required to give ample notice to leadership, so a replacement may be nominated, and a popular vote held.
  16. Participation in the confirmation of a new Hypatos is required for all active members of the FC.
  17. Leadership meetings are held bi-weekly, one hour before general FC meetings. Attendance is required.
  18. General FC meetings are held bi-weekly, one hour after officer meetings. Attendance is not required; however, it is highly encouraged.
  19. Special meetings may be called by anyone at any time, but must be scheduled a week, 7 days, in advance.
  20. In order to vote in Hypatos confirmation meetings, members must be logged in to the game and present at the meeting.

Appendix 1, Definitions

  1. Common Decency: The term “common decency” includes anything less than being considered extremely vulgar, disturbing, or illegal. 
  2. Leadership: The term “leadership” in this document includes Triumvirate members and Officers.
  3. Leadership Vote: A “leadership vote” is a vote that includes Triumvirate members and Officers.
  4. Popular Vote: A “popular vote” is a vote that includes all active members of the FC; Triumvirate members, Officers, and Hoplites.
  5. Active Member: Any member of the FC who has logged in to the game during the past 30 days and is in good standing with the FC. 
  6. Good Standing: A member in good standing is regarded as having complied with all their explicit obligations, and contributes to the well-being of the FC, while not being subject to any form of sanction, suspension or disciplinary censure.
